What is Zero Bug Policy?

The zero bug policy states fixing every bug immediately or deciding that it is so unimportant it should never be fixed. Which bugs are unimportant and which are not, must be discussed and agreed upon by the project team.

If there is a bug there are two options according to the zero-bug policy;

  • If there is a time period decided by the project team, the bug must be fixed in that time.
  • If there is not a time decided on for fixing bugs, it must be fixed urgently, before other development activities.

If there is a bug but the team decided as it has too little value;

  • The bug must be discarded and it should not be kept as "will be fixed" because unimportant bugs are neither fixed nor tracked according to the policy.
